I know MM Day weekend isn't over yet... but I thought I'd give a little weekend recap... Friday I got my hair done... it was definitely long over due considering I was in Virginia the previous weekend... I'm happy I got it over with considering it was a big weekend and you know EVERYONE needs to get fresh!! Saturday, I spent some much needed quality time with the man who helped create me... MY FATHER... (thats him above!) We went to the Dance Africa Bazaar at BAM. It was definitely an experience. I've gone to other bazaars/street festivals but this one was so real, so live, so in tune with the life of Brooklyn. Now I don't just represent Brooklyn b/c I live here... I represent it b/c its diverse! Brooklyn is made up of so many personalities, cultures, styles, races, sexual orientations and the list goes on... Brooklyn also host many street festivals - another one being the Atlantic Antic. (Be sure to check out my blog in the future for my Weekend Forecast - I will post the necessary information regarding the Atlantic Antic!)Sunday felt like it came and left... I went for the very first time to a music concert! My pumpkin pie and I went to see Keyshia Cole, who I must say was amazing. I do have one gripe though! I don't know if I'm a concert kinda girl considering I want the ARTIST TO SING not stand on the stage - hop around a few times and have the audience do all the blowing! Which is how I felt at the concert... maybe its just because it was my first experience - maybe the next one will be better!! Bobby Valentino, Keri Hilson and The Dream opened up for Keyshia... it was definitely a good line up!
Memorial Day started off with me yapping on the phone, listening to music and cleaning my room... After a couple of hours of that - my DAD hit me up, inviting me to a cook-out at Prospect Park. The opportunity to get out the house on such a beautiful day came at the perfect time! So overall - I'm sure there are MANY things I could have done but the things I did do I'm happy with! Spending time with family and friends is always a positive thing... they help you get through dark days and make sunny days even brighter!!
Glad you had a good weekend. I need artists to jump around as well - give me something more than just singing the songs. I could stay home with the CD for all that lol.
